About This Site

Dog Joint Mobility Hub publishes long-term, first-person reviews, comparisons and how-to guides about joint and mobility supplements for dogs: glucosamine and chondroitin chewables, large-breed joint formulas, green-lipped mussel soft chews and omega-3 fish oil. Everything here is written from the point of view of an owner living with an older, stiffer dog, and none of it replaces a conversation with your veterinarian.

Supplement Safety

Joint supplements are not medicine and nothing on this site diagnoses, treats or cures arthritis or any other condition. Limping, sudden stiffness, swelling, crying out when touched or a dog that will not put weight on a leg needs a veterinarian, not a chew.

Talk to your vet before starting any supplement, and tell them about everything your dog already takes. Glucosamine products can matter for dogs with diabetes, fish oil can affect clotting and should be discussed before surgery or alongside blood thinners, and green-lipped mussel and fish products are a problem for dogs with shellfish or fish allergies.

Dose by the label and by your dog's actual weight. Flavored chews are tempting, so store tubs and bottles where a dog cannot reach them, because a dog that eats a whole container can get very sick. Introduce one new product at a time and watch for vomiting, loose stool or itching, and stop and call your vet if they appear.
